Inserra Supermarkets

Inserra Supermarkets

www.shoprite.com/member_inserra

History and Overview

It all began with Patsy Inserra’s vision of creating a grocery store dedicated to serving local families and being a good neighbor. In 1954, he turned that dream into a reality when he opened the doors of Patsy’s in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. With the entrepreneurial guidance of the late Lawrence Inserra, the company expanded to 14 ShopRite stores by 1981. Today, under the direction of the Inserra family’s third and fourth generations and Ron Onorato, president and COO, that family and community focus continues at all 22 Inserra ShopRite stores. In New Jersey, our 17 ShopRites are located in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties, and in New York, we have 5 stores in Rockland County.

Since Inserra Supermarkets’ earliest days, three main principles have formed the Inserra Creed

Service – providing our customers with a wide variety of merchandise in a pleasant and courteous environment.
Quality – providing our customers with the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices within a clean, healthy and safe environment.
People – treating our fellow associates fairly and providing them with the opportunity for growth by creating a satisfying and rewarding work environment.

These principles serve as the foundation of our purpose-filled mission “to care deeply about people and help them to eat well and be happy.” As one of the region’s largest employers, our family-owned chain provides full- and part-time positions to more than 4,800 associates. Inserra Supermarkets also owns and operates a PriceRite in Garfield, New Jersey.

About Us - Tri-County Chamber of Commerce | Wayne, NJ

About Us

The rich history of the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce now spans more than a half-century as one of New Jersey’s premier business organizations. In that 50 years, our Chamber has grown into a bountiful group of business experts and caring professionals. It is a true business mosaic; where many unique pies come together to form an enthusiastic platform to meet the ever- expanding needs of our members. We endure.

Formed at the epicenter of American industrialism, The Tri-County Chamber has seen, supported and passionately endorsed each economic era ever since. Today, we are a dynamic, vibrant group with both relevant business memories and extraordinary visioning skills. We know business.

Our legacy stretches through periods of tremendous economic transitions and cultural shifts. As witnesses to both the robust and the challenging cycles of business, we pride ourselves on our ability to neatly navigate and quickly adapt. As we embrace each age, we also prepare for the next. We operate in the present but never take our eyes off the horizon. We are partners in your future.

Our Mission

As stated by our distinguished Board of Directors, the mission of The Tri-County Chamber of Commerce is to serve its members by cultivating a favorable environment in which Business, Government, Education and the Community at Large can interact. For the benefit of all.

Like other organizations, we are tasked with many responsibilities. However, we never lose sight of the fact that we are here, first, to serve our members. By doing so, we create more than just potential financial rewards for them. We produce an engaging network where every business, every member – regardless of their size, their service or their years – has real opportunities with other “best-in-class” individuals and organizations. No one prospers unless we all prosper.

Our Values

As an organization, our breadth is far greater than the sum of our parts. We are a network of individuals. Our “product” does not come off a shelf. What we offer is far-reaching support and trust-based relationships. As such, our values are people-driven and unbending. We take our values personally.

All of our bridges – to the world of business, to local government and to the greater communities we serve – are held by the twin cables of integrity and ethics. As a place where leaders often emerge, we demonstrate the enduring strength of equality, honesty, respect, financial responsibility, volunteerism and friendship. We strive to do things right but we never fail to do the right thing.

Our Region…Our Home

Within just 20 miles of New York City, the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce service area offers “the best of both worlds”: Neighborhoods that provide small town charm without sacrificing accessibility to big city amenities.

Served by bus, rail and an extensive highway system, these communities offer vital shopping districts, a desirable real estate market, a talented and powerful workforce as well as a diverse business community, all within close proximity.

According to 2000 figures from CACI, the communities that make up the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce service area boast nearly 5 billion dollars a year in retail buying power. Also, 40% of the households in this market average an income greater than $75,000.

All things considered, the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce service area is an especially appealing place to live and a lucrative place in which to conduct business. We are proud to call it home.

Join Our Chamber

Membership in the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce can be your link to other business professionals, who, like you, are serious about doing business. Joining the organization is just the first step. Membership goes far beyond a sticker in your window or being listed in the Chamber Directory, it gives you access to numerous publicity and promotional opportunities.

The Tri-County Chamber of Commerce has and will continue to serve our community of business professionals with programs and services focused on our primary goal, that being to help you do more business.
